Tenkara gear is so light and compact, it can fit into just about any adventure. My Yonah Tenkara Pack is about as dialed in as I can think I can get in terms of tackle, but sometimes, you need to carry more. Here is a Facebook live video I made showing how I incorporate it into other packing trips when I need to go a little further and carry a little more.
Jason is an avid fly angler and backpacker. As a former fly fishing guide originally from Western New York, he moved to Colorado and became an early adopter of tenkara which perfectly suited the small, high altitude streams and lakes there. He has not fished a Western-style fly rod for trout since.
Jason, nice video. I use the same three setups you show with a couple of changes. On the longer trips I attach the Yonah to my chest strap on the front so I don’t have to go digging for it. I also have a small waterproof camera attached in the front so I can quickly access it.
Nice video but what happened to the captions ? Great site
Not sure. Did you have them turned on on your end?
